Treeton Local History Group

AGM

Thursday 28th April 2011

The chairman gave his report, going over the varied and interesting events of the past year. The accounts were presented by the treasurer, they showed an excess of expenditure over income for the year of £535.50 this is mainly due to a one off payment of £521.26 regarding the Sealed Knot event of 2009. There is a balance cfwd of £921.97. The public relations officer reported that he had several plans for the coming year, but none were formalised as yet. He commented that speakers were charging more every year some as much as £55. In view of this, he is hoping for contributions from the group members. John Swift and Hedley Frost have agreed to give slide shows again and David Aveling is sorting out the slides of Treeton that have been passed on to us from Eddie Hinchcliffe. Also several visits were suggested. The committee was voted in for another year and this remains unchanged at. Eric Tillery Chair, Margaret Young Secretary, Iris Gahegan Treasurer, Kevin Atkins Public Relations and Events Officer, Carole Robinson Newsletter Editor, David Aveling Archivist and Gordon Payne Vice Chair. Other committee members are Pat Payne, Ro carter, Jean Noble, and Derek and Monica Walker. It was proposed that the membership fee should be increased in view of increased costs in general. This will increase from £5 to £6 for a single person and from £8 to £10 for a family and the non-member charge will increase to £1 per visit. These changes were agreed and will come into effect next year. The committee were all thanked for the work they had done in the past year. The AGM finished at 8.10pm and was followed by a social evening with quizzes, old photographs and refreshments.
